Battleshirt Galactica

August 1979

Shogun Warriors #7

Only $4.99 for these fabulous Battlestar Galactica T-shirts! Though back in 1979 that $4.99 would’ve been more like $17.50 today – so while it won’t break the bank, it’s not exactly chump change either.

With five designs and six colors to choose from you’ve got quite a few options to choose from! I’d be curious to see the data on which design/color combinations were most popular (just because I’m a nerd like that). Personally, I think I’d go for the Battlestar Crew on light blue – what would you pick?

Star Wars: Return of the Jedi #3

Here we’ve got a classified page that’s (pretty much) full of comics. Here’s your chance to find all those back issues you’re looking for!

The single non-comic ad here is for Mazewarps – “24 Challenging Videomaze Games in a Book.” I’m a bit confused by this – how can they be video if they’re in a book? Maybe it’s a book on how to program games on a computer? Any of you out there know what the deal with Mazewarps is?

Wonder Woman #37

Classifieds provide a smorgasbord  of cheesiness – they’re the cheapest advertising that money can buy in comics, meaning that they’re usually the lowest quality… which also means they can sometimes be the most entertaining!

I think my favorite on here is the “Live Chameleon FREE!” ad (of course, the lizard is only free if you buy a six-month supply of food). Though the “!!GET ALL THE GIRLS!!  !!BECOME RICH & POPULAR!!  * ONLY $3.95 *” is pretty great – for only $3.95, how could you afford not to order??
