About

I love comic books, and I love history. While we buy comic books for the stories, in many books I find myself drawn to the ads, especially ones advertising products from my childhood. There’s just something fun and exciting about running across an ad for a toy or a type of candy that I haven’t seen since I was a kid – the moment of “Hey, I remember THAT!”

Maybe it’s just the fact that I’m nostalgic for the stuff that was around when I was a kid, but it seems like the ads in comic books just aren’t as FUN as they used to be. I intend to throw in some more modern ads, just to be well rounded, but those will be less common than older ones.

A few notes: I’ll try to post ads from a range of periods, so I’ll try to keep consecutive posts at least five years apart (in terms of when the comics were published, that is), and I intend to post things that are at least ten years old (but mostly much older). Also, I’m just taking these from my personal collection, so what I’ve got is what you’ll see. I have more comics from the 2000s than any other era, but I think I’ve got enough variety to keep things interesting.

I hope you enjoy my nerdy trip down memory lane!
