I’m still amazed by the number of career-related ads in these older comics – I guess I was under the impression that people saw comics as “just for kids,” but Jungle Action from 1972 begs to differ.
Here we have an ad boasting of the benefits of learning drafting – a high-paying job that supposedly anyone can learn!
With a coast-to-coast shortage of draftsmen (no women?) and no strikes or layoffs, it must be the ideal career!

This is it – the final ad I’ve got to post from Deadpool #1, making this the first book that I’ve closed out! So what have we got here? Bedlam, a video game about preventing the imminent destruction of mankind.
This ad doesn’t tell you a whole lot about the game, but at least it’s more descriptive than WCW!
I think this post wins for number of tags! Yep, you could buy just about any title from East Coast Comics, from Akira to X-Terminators!
What I wouldn’t give for prices like those on some of these titles today!
